Overview

West India Lion Safari, a tour package of 8 nights and 9 days, offers you a chance to spot the big cats and Asiatic Wild Ass, respectively, during your visits to the Gir national park and the` Rann of Kutch. These are two extremely well-known wildlife reserves in the western part of the country. During the itinerary, you also indulge in sightseeing in Gondal, an erstwhile princely state.

Itinerary

Day 1 :Arrive in Mumbai

Up on your arrival in Mumbai, our IHPL Representative will greet you and assist you to check in at Hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 2 :Mumbai - Diu – Gir National Park

On the morning of day 2, get on-time transfer to the airport to board a flight to Diu. On reaching Diu Airport, hit the road to Gir National Park, popular for being the last habitat of the endangered Asiatic Lions.
On reaching, complete the check-in formalities at your Jungle lodge. The evening is scheduled for Jeep safari into the park, accompanied by a naturalist. Overnight in Gir.

Day 3 :Gir

Days 3 is for morning and evening wild safaris in the national park. During the safaris, you spot animal species such as Four-horned Antelope, Sambar, Wild Boar, Chital, Nilgai, Chinkara etc.

Day 4 :Gir

Next morning after breakfast,the national park also boasts of housing as many as 250 species of birds including peregrine falcon, Pallas’s fish eagle, Eurasian griffon vulture, Indian white-backed vulture, white-eyed buzzard as well as endangered ones like Saras crane. Enjoy dinner around bonfire. Treat your eyes to the surrounding lush greenery.

Day 5 :Gir - Gondal

Post breakfast, depart for Gondal by road. It is an erstwhile princely town. On arrival, check-in at your pre-booked hotel. Later, leave for exploring the popular attractions of Gondal including the Naulakha Palace Museum-housing a collection of royal artifacts, Swaminarayan temple – erected by Shastriji Maharaj and the Ayurvedic pharmacy. Later, leave for a tour of the Maharaja’s private grasslands where you can spot Blackbuck and blue bulls roaming freely and later the town’s the bird-rich lakes. Overnight stay.

Day 6 :Gondal – Dasada

On day 6, after breakfast, begin driving towards Dasada, known as the gateway to the Little Rann of Kutch, also known as Or Dhangadhra Sanctuary, a well-known wildlife reserve of the western part of the country. On arriving, check-in at your pre-booked resort. In the evening, enjoy a jeep game safari inside the national park, accompanied by a local guide. Stay overnight in the resort.

Day 7 :Rann of Kutch, Dasada

Day 7 is scheduled for morning and evening game safari into the national park. During the safari, you spot animal species such as Indian antelope, blue bull, desert cats, cobra, Indian rat snake, hares, Indian fox, desert fox, hyenas, jackals, etc. The reserve is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, because of its varied biosphere. Overnight in the resort.

Day 8 :Dasada - Ahmedabad

Post breakfast, hit the road to Ahmedabad, popular as Manchester of the East’. On arrival, complete the check-in formalities at your hotel. The rest of the day is free for leisure activities. You can interact with the locals, visit the well-known tourist attractions, taste the local renditions etc. Stay overnight.

Day 9 :Ahmedabad – Mumbai Departure

Today is the last day of the tour when you get transferred to the airport to board a flight to Mumbai from where you board a flight to your onward destination.
